Denver's Trauma & OCD Therapy's Founder, Martha Johnson, LPC.
I’m Martha.
I’m a therapist for the quirky, the introspective, and the "big thinkers."
I’m a trauma-informed therapist and recognized forerunner in contemporary OCD treatment, helping adults navigating OCD, trauma, and identity-based wounds move from disembodied survival into grounded, empowered living.
My work blends the wisdom of lived experience with training in the most up-to-date, evidence-based OCD interventions. With a style rooted in vulnerability, humor, depth, and humanity, I create spaces where clients can finally breathe, tell the truth, and be fully themselves without apology.
My work centers the intersections of OCD, religious and medical trauma, identity-based trauma (BIPOC, LGBTQ+), attachment wounds, and the ways nervous systems are shaped by cultural and systemic forces. I help clients shift out of rigid, all-or-nothing thinking and into duality — a place where complexity is safe, two things can be true, and healing expands rather than constricts.
I work best with quirky, introspective, big-thinking humans who crave depth, honesty, movement, nature, and a therapist who’s willing to be real. Clients often describe me as deeply validating while gently challenging, offering warmth, humor, and direct insight in equal measure.
Beyond my clinical work, I teach and speak on non-linear healing, emotional safety in organizations, the political nature of the nervous system, and the complexities of OCD and trauma that traditional institutions often misunderstand. My blend of personal experience and advanced clinical training allows me to bridge worlds — making me a trusted guide for those seeking cutting-edge OCD care grounded in humanity.
